Now that we are in the last few days of 2017, I’m so grateful to find myself finishing off the year on a high note. This year has been a major turning point in my life that I left my banking career and decided to build a career around my passion (the detailed story was unfolded in my last post, where I reviewed my 2017 with my audience, Click HERE for the post).
As we are approaching Christmas time, and all the brands are running their Christmas and festive season market campaigns, I’m honoured to be have Calzedonia to feature me a section on their official website (Click HERE) and Instagram as one of the eight #PartyLikeA ambassadors. Earlier this year, they also sponsored me to attend their FW2018 Fashion Show in Verona, Italy, which was definitely another eye opening experience to mingle with all the famous international bloggers and we get to meet Juliet Robert in person!
Here’s a short Q&A I did for one of the online magazines, and I thought I’d share it here with you to provide more sights stories about how is it like to be a Calzedonia Ambassador.
Q:What’s it like to be the ambassador to Calzedonia?
A: Since Calzedonia started as a family business, and it still runs by the family, working with them makes me feel like I’m a part of their family. I have met Calzedonia family and they are always there to listen to our new ideas and inspirations, sometimes, I even get to get evolved and contribute my ideas for their marketing campaigns, like the recently giveaway I did for them for this festive season. I get to know most of their staffs in the region and become close friends with some of them. Working with the Calzedonia team is more like hanging out with friends, they made everything so easy and smooth for us.
Q: Who took the photos and did the set up for the #PartyLikeA campaign?
A: When Calzedonia contact me to shoot for the #PartyLikeA campaign photos, the first two things came to my mind was Champagne and Balloons! You can’t have a great party without those two essentials. So I borrowed my friend’s Penthouse apartment in Hong Kong and filled the bathroom with 50 PINK balloons! Pink has always been my party mood colours and I still remember I had pink hummer limos for my birthday parties for quite a few times. Pixels2Project took my photos. I have been working with them for quite a number of occasions now and they really understand my style and know what I want for each of the shoot.
Q: How did you get selected in the first place?
A: Calzedonia ran an Instagram contest earlier this year for their stockings and leggings for their Spring Collections and I was one of the winners, which led me a long-term working relationship with them.
Q: How was the Calzedonia FW Fashion Show like? and what was your day like during your time in Verona?
A:This year is actually the first FW Fashion Show for Calzedonia. They normally host one in their head quarter in Verona for the Swimsuits in Spring, but for leggings and stocking, this is the first time! I was honoured to be invited by Calzedonia, and they took good care of me during my who 3-day stay in Verona. The schedule was quite hectic, but in a good and exciting way. We landed on a Monday with several other guest celebrities, models and bloggers from Hong Kong, Japan and China. Straight after checking in the hotel and lunch, we had a grand tour around the head-quarter of Calzedonia and Intimissimi (They are sister brands and run by the same family). The head quarter handles all the top level strategies, and marketing, and it has this huge auditorium where the fashion show was held. It easily sits over a thousand people. Followed by that was a ‘romantic candle light dinner’ on Lake Garda, where I would never forget how beautiful the sunset was from the lake. Day 2 was the big day – I had a photoshoot around the romantic town of Verona, where Romeo and Juliet families lives, before I rushed back to the hotel to get myself prepared for the evening fashion show, which started around 6pm. It was definitely one of highlights of this trip to mingle in the backstage with all the models and dancers of the fashion show, and when I had 5 people to working on me at the same time to set my hair and do my make up. That was a moment of all-spotlights-on-me moment. The show itself need no words to explain, I have attached a video below for you in case you haven’t seen it yet! Is there an after party? HELL YES!!! Partying with all the bloggers, guests, models and take drunk photos was a part of the ‘package’ 🙂 Fun times are always to short, we left Verona the following, and Calzedonia personally got us limos send each of us to our next destinations.
Q: Who did you meet during the fashion show?
A: Having a front row seat right next to the centre has its perks. You get to see all the famous ones … Juliet Robert was the head guest of the night, there are also bloggers like Chiara Ferragni, Valentina Ferragni, Cristina Musacchino, Louise Thompson, Ryan Libbey, and heaps more.
Q: What is Calzedonia’s plan for 2018?
A: Calzedonia has lots of exciting projects coming up for 2018 and I look forward to work with them in the new year. Another thing that is coming up that really excites me is that Initimissimi, the sister brand, is launching several Intimissimi cafes!! I can’t wait to check out one myself.
