Happy International Women’s Day for my dear ladies. What are you doing to celebrate this today to make it more meaningful and more memorable? Why not give yourself a break and a gift, to give yourself a little extra attention so you can recharge before the next round of challenges and battles. I have no doubt each of you are incredibly hard-working and busy woman who puts yourself at the bottom of the to-do list in your forever swamped daily schedules.
Here’s a few simple gifts that you can gift yourself…
1) Fresh Air
Put down what you are doing, step outside for a few minutes and breath in some fresh air. Your body will thank you for it and your mind will be clearer after your oxygen boost. While you are out there maybe push the boat out and have a little walk around the black and enjoy the spring.
2) A pat on the back
Do it right now! While you are reading this article, go on, you total deserve it! There will most certainly, be something you deserve a pat on the back for, you just haven’t stopped to acknowledge it yet. We’ve all work so hard to chase your dreams or even for the sake of living, however, we hardly stop and give ourselves some recognition! We often focused a lot on having our work recognised by others, but most importantly, we need to give ourselves recognition, so we can move onto the next task with pride!
3) An Eye Break
How many of you sit in front of computer monitors and work for long hours everyday? We spent so much time looking at screens, all kinds of screens, and our eyes get tired but we rarely give them a break. Close your eyes, just for a few months, take a few deep breaths and feel your eyes rest and relax. How good does that feel? Just over a simple moment!
4) A stretch
Any stretch will do. A sneaky leg stretch under the desk while squeezing your butt cheeks, or stretch out your arms above your head interlocking the fingers. A stretch to the body is like a glass of water to a thirsty woman, we desperately need this.
5) An Hour Off
Go on, I dare you. Schedule an hour off, all to yourself. Yes some me time to do whatever you want. You may choose to schedule in a yoga session to strength out the tentions in your body, a job on the street to shakes off some stress from work, read one of your favourite novels which you promised yourself to schedule sometime to read it but never got a chance to, or pamper yourself with a massage or facial. Anthing you like as long as it’s not something on your to-do list! You might enjoy it so much that you might want to extend it for another hour!
