Perspectives

January 26, 2017 31 Comments

Hong Kong is known as a concrete jungle. The term ‘concrete jungle’ sounds a little depressing to some extent. However, every story has at least 2 sides. Things often can be viewed differently, depends on the angle or perspective you take. People around the world have come to this city to chase their careers and to fulfil their dreams. Most people live in this city have a love-and-hate relationship with it. Hong Kong is a very dynamic city that never sleeps. It is filled with opportunities, glam, excitements, money, but it is also like a black hole that sucks you and bury you with stress, loneliness, greed, lust, and hunger. Standing on the top of one of the buildings among the concrete jungles on level 56, I can’t help not to admire the beauty of this city: filled with sky crappers and ambitious souls. What can you see from this view?

Definitely a great way of seeing it! Sometimes we get caught up in the excitement of all the glam and opportunity, and we forget that we must be cautious of the negative side as well.
I been to HK once when i was a child and although I don’t remember too much, I remember it was definitely a city that was constantly bustling…and there were so many tall buildings! haha

I been in HK and think it is like any big cities, that work very hard to success to dream life. But only special get into this success. I think, I would love to live there and just to get an experience of life in Asia’s big city.

I love Hong Kong! I go every year and it’s seriously a city that never sleeps, but then I can have wonton noodle soup at 12am and I’d find a place. Haha.

Love that silk pajama set! This is a view of Hong Kong that I haven’t seen before. I think it actually looks much calmer from atop, in spite of all the skyscrapers. It’s just so busy and bustling at ground level!

So very true. There are always two sides of a story and a place that never sleeps requires the people in it to keep a high tempo and it’s good to sit down and reflect over things every now and then so you won’t go too fast. Just like you’ve done here on the roof top. With that said, I’d love to visit Hong Kong though! 🙂

Hong Kong sounds just like NYC – a concrete jungle where many come to fulfill their wildest hopes and dreams. I think any metropolitan big city represents those same ideals universally, and I agree, while some can interpret our cities as hectic and depressing, we can also choose to see it as alive and invigorating. Great perspective hun!
