Instead of taking the long hectic Bus-Ferry-Bus ride to Kalibo airport, which is located no more than 100km away from the Boracay Island. However, due to the undeveloped infrastructure and infrequent bus and ferry schedule, the whole journey takes more than 3 hours to reach Kalibo. After a long night at Zouk Out, we decided to spoil ourselves a little and take the chopper to Kalibo instead, which to my surprise only took 15 mins in the air.
It was a truly spectacular wonder above the island, the ocean, the mountain and the rice paddies.
Not that the flight has saved me more than 3 hours of time, we also landed inside the airport right next to my flight back to Hong Kong. We had a local airport crew person helped us with all the check-ins, airport tax and custom paper works. We were definitely well serviced, and I was kind of glad that I didn’t need to line up for the long check-in and custom line. Although the 15-min ride is more expensive than my 800-miles flight to Hong Kong, however, giving the time and effect saved, plus the magnificent view you will see from the top, the whole journey was totally worthy.
