Being a big city girl, I always have cravings natures. I yearned for the life of the birds, so I can fly freely to anywhere and enjoy the magnificent view from the top. I dreamt about living on a little hut on the beach front or a tree house in the middle of the forest. The idea of living in the middle of the dessert never really crossed my mind till my recent visit in Jordan for Petra and Dead Sea.
People always have perception of dry and hot when it comes to desert. However, there are many different types of deserts out there. The Jordanian valleys have some very unique features of its own. I stayed at the six senses hotel near the Dead Sea, which was surrounded by vegetation and the hotel has a few nature hot springs. Yes, it is hot during the day in the sun, however, due to the surrounding peaks and mountains, it is always easy to find shades during the day and the temperature is actually quite reasonable under the shades, and it gets very cool at night after the sundown. I left my balcony’s door open at night and it is so beautiful to listen to the sounds of the nature and let the nature light of the moonshine shines onto your bed. It’s a perfect hideaway location for mediation and enjoying the nature.
